Terminology for Device State
| Status | Description |

| Active | Device has an active subscription and is currently billing. |
| Overdue | Device subscription is overdue. |
| Suspended | Device subscription has been suspended. |
| Retired | Device has been permanently decommissioned. |
Terminology for Device Connection
| Status | Description |
|---|---|
| Online | Device is connected and transmitting data normally. |
| Degraded | Device connection is unstable or weak; data transmission may be delayed or intermittent. |
| Offline | Device is not connected and unable to transmit data. |
Terminology for Device Sensor Health
| Status | Description |
|---|---|
| Healthy | Sensor is operating normally and providing valid data. |
| Warning | Sensor may be experiencing issues or providing unreliable data. |
| Error | Sensor has failed or is not providing data. |
1. View Your Ontoto Device
- Go to the Ontoto Web Portal.
- Click on Devices in the menu bar.
- All your devices will be listed with their name, state, product, connection, sensor health and battery info.
- Enter the device name in the Search Bar to locate the device.
- Click on Device Name access the device dashboard, combined chart, export CSV files, sensors, alarms, files, commands, app logs, and transmissions.
2. Create Device Group
Device group can be created as many you need as individual or nested way. The devices can be moved to the group and also assigned to the multiple groups. Groups can be used for alarms, user access, and exporting CSV files for batch device selection.- Go to the Ontoto Web Portal.
- Click on Devices in the menu bar.
- Click on Create Group.
- Enter the group name. Enter description and parent group if required.
- Go to the Devices tab and select the devices.
- Click Create Group.
3. View Device Data
Device data is visualized in the chart as per the selected parameters. If the device has a custom gauge, actionable data can be viewed there.- Go to the Ontoto Web Portal.
- Click on Devices in the menu bar.
- Enter the device name in the Search Bar to locate the device.
- Click on the Device Name to access the dashboard or sensors tab.
- Click on the Chart Icon for the parameter to view its data.
- By default, data for the last 24 hours will be displayed.
- Click on the Dropdown to select a different duration.
- Drag the Date Slider from the sides to choose a specific period.
4. Configure Sensor
This allows you to change any sensor name and output unit, and add configuration values for derived parameters.- Go to the Ontoto Web Portal.
- Click on Devices in the menu bar.
- Enter the device name in the Search Bar to locate the device.
- Click on the Device Name to access the dashboard tab.
- Click on the Settings Icon for the parameter to view its data.
- Click on Create Attribute if a attrcibute is required for a derived parameter.
- Click on Create Devrived Parameter.
- Enter required information and select formula.
- If new formula required then Click on Ad New Formula to create.
- Once complting all steps derived parameter will be available in th list of the parametes.
- Click on Parameter Name to modify the selected parameter in the list.
- Enter a new name if needed.
- Select the preferred output unit.
- Enter Display Precision.
- Click on Save.
5. View Combined Chart
Data for all device parameters is displayed in a combined chart.- Go to the Ontoto Web Portal.
- Click on Devices in the menu bar.
- Enter the device name in the Search Bar to locate the device.
- Click on the Device Name.
- Click on the Combined Chart to view the data.
- By default, data for the last 24 hours will be displayed.
- Click on the Dropdown to select a different duration.
- Drag the Date Slider from the sides to choose a specific period.
- Click on the Parameter Name to toggle its display in the combined chart.
6. Device Data Download
Data from the device can be downloaded as a CSV file.- Go to the Ontoto Web Portal.
- Click on Devices in the menu bar.
- Enter the device name in the Search Bar to locate the device.
- Click on the Device Name.
- Click on Export CSV.
- Select the Device.
- Enter the Export Settings information.
- Click on Add Metadata to add a key and value, if required.
- Click on Start Export to download the CSV.
7. Set Up an Alarm
This allows the configuration of an alarm for each parameter, triggering email notifications when thresholds are exceeded.- Go to the Ontoto Web Portal.
- Click on Devices in the menu bar.
- Enter the device name in the Search Bar to locate the device.
- Click on the Device Name.
- Click on Alarms.
- Cleck on Add Alarm.
- Enter the Alarm Configuration information.
- Click on Dropdown of the Notification.
